Normalee J. Nelson, Galesburg Chapel 85, of Galesburg died at 3:25 am Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

She was born June 8, 1927 in Galesburg the daughter of Clarence and Mildred Tucker Miles. She married Harold E. Nelson on January 12, 1947 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on August 4, 2007.

She is survived by two sons, David M. (Cindy) Nelson and Rick E. (Rachel) Nelson both of Galesburg; her daughter, Pam (Joe) Padilla of Galesburg; her sister, Barbara Jean (Don) Reid of Lemoore, Calif.; six grandchildren, Christopher Nelson, Melissa (Jeff) Roberts, Bradley Nelson, Eric Nelson, Amy (Paul) Kosby and Sarah (Richard) Schleich and thirteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband and her great grandson.

She worked for Sears Company for 18 years. She also worked for the Knox County Courthouse in the Treasurer Office for 9 years. She retired in 1988. Normalee graduated from Galesburg High School in 1945. She was a member of the Covenant Church.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 pm Wednesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Tom Ek will officiate. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 pm at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the Covenant Church or Children's Milk Fund of Knox County. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
